Efficiency Mode.

Thinking about a post I recently made on reddit, I decided to create my own Efficiency Mode for Anima Waker.

So you know how monster tamer games do tend to be horribly inefficient when it comes to giving too much pointless information that bogs the player down, right? Like, we really don't need the game to notify us that using a water attack on a monster that's just a sentient fireball means that we get bonus damage. or how after our mon gets the poison animation above them and the screen zooms onto their hitpoints slowly being sapped, the game thinks that we still didn't get the message and states "YOUR MONSTER GOT DAMAGED BY POISON" which bogs the game down by a lot when you account for every incidence of this event over time.

Yeah, that kind of gave me an idea to make battles run as fast as possible in the game which I dubbed the game's Efficiency Mode where it will remove all needless dialogue that the player already should know.

Compare the gifs here...

Again, sorry for the quality, but just pay attention how much time the game wasted telling the player that Ratussle is weak to the Nature Element, which you'll learn once you play the game for a while, and that Bushroomdo's Innate activated.

Now compare it here with Efficiency Mode activated.

I mean, part of the reason the gif went so fast was that there was less LP to recover from Decomposer, but I digress. I'll keep refining this efficiency mode over time as IMHO the speed-up function that's used for other games run on Essentials feel like a poor band-aid solution and you shouldn't need a script to cut down on bad game design.
